Jason J. Puhlasky
has worked in the realm of politics for over 14 years despite being only 33 years of age. Working on an array of political and media campaigns over the last decade has earned him the reputation of a no nonsense strategist who has earned the respect of his peers.

IA graduate of the University of South Carolina, Mr. Puhlasky honed his political skills in the shadow of the Statehouse. He began by volunteering on then President George Bush’s 1992 campaign, then subsequently earning a paid position as an intern at the South Carolina Republican Party. Soon he was given the responsibility of implementing the direct mail and paid phone operations for multiple state house and senate races including an historic victory in the March 1999 special election for Senate District 18. The win, despite being out spent 3 to 1 by huge favorite, former Senator Tommy Pope, helped lead to the eventual take over of the South Carolina State Senate.

Mr. Puhlasky went on to help lead candidate recruitment efforts for the state House and Senate. In charge of developing all opposition research for each race while constructing the media and grassroots campaigns in each targeted district, the House and Senate were able to make significant gains, growing the Republican majority in the House and placing the Senate within striking distance for the next round of Senate elections.

He left the Republican Party in April 1999; Mr. Puhlasky accepted the position of political director for George W. Bush’s campaign in South Carolina. He was entrusted with the grassroots program initiation of all 46 counties in South Carolina. Under his leadership, President Bush’s campaign mobilized key constituencies designed to maximize voter turnout, building a statewide network of over 10,000 volunteers. Teachers, law enforcement officer’s, legislators and veterans were key groups.

Turnout reached over 500,000 voters, still a record in the State of South Carolina. Then Governor George W. Bush went on to thank his team in South Carolina for resurrecting his campaign.

Mr. Puhlasky became the political director for the Columbia based political consulting firm New South Strategies in March of 2000. He was in charge of developing earned and paid media campaigns for local, state and federal officials throughout South Carolina.

Using his acumen for grassroots networking in 2001 he went onto oversee communications with local elected officials and landowners for SCANA for the installation of their new pipeline project in Fayetteville North Carolina. In charge of coordinating all press releases, interviews and town hall meetings.
